Irish Breeder of the Year

29th June 2010

The inaugural winners of the Connolly’s RED MILLS/ The Irish Field Breeder of the Year competition are David and Diane Nagle of Barronstown Stud. The Nagles received their award at a dinner in the Hanged Man’s Inn, Milltown, near the Curragh, to which all 12 monthly winners were invited.

Among those winners representing Barronstown Stud with distinction on the racecourse during the past year were Yeats, Oratorio and Horatio Nelson while the Co. Wicklow nursery also bred the dam of Japanese star, Deep Impact. Connolly’s RED MILLS’ Managing Director Joe Connolly was delighted to award the prize to the Nagles: "David and Diane are most deserving winners because few breeders achieve such results time and again. It’s very fitting that their peers admire the work and commitment they put in and recognise the standard they set for the rest of the industry."
